Healthcare providers face the challenging task of guiding patients with serious illness in making informed decisions about care. The presenters addressed barriers and solutions to effective communication about treatment options, quality of life considerations and supportive care needs and introduced SpeakSooner®: A Patient’s Guide (Guide) to Difficult Conversations, a new tool that prompts patients to identify and communicate questions and concerns to healthcare providers.
